Interventional Radiologist Specializing in Endovascular Procedures Dr. Sanjoy Kundu completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario, followed by medical school and a residency in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Toronto. He then completed a Fellowship in Angiography and Interventional Radiology specializing in Minimally Invasive Image Guided Procedures at the University Health Network in Toronto. He is a certified and active fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Kundu has a unrestricted license to practice in Ontario. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology in the United States by The American Board of Radiology. Dr. Kundu is also a certified Registered Vascular Technologist with an added specialty in Physician Vascular Interpretation by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Vascular Ultrasound. Dr. Kundu is also one of a handful of physicians in Canada to be certified by the American Board of Phlebology for the treatment of venous disease.

He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Phlebology, the American Society of Angiology, and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe. Dr. Kundu is the current chair of the Standards of Practise Committee and member of the Technology Assessment Committee for the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is also a member of the Public Education Committee at the American College of Phlebology. He has been awarded Fellowship in the American Society of Angiology, Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe and Society of Interventional Radiology for his contribution to Endovascular Medicine and the field of Minimally Invasive Image Guided Procedures. Currently Dr. Kundu is involved in giving lectures worldwide on the technique and most recent advancements in Endovenous Laser Ablation for varicose veins, the latest treatment techniques for spider veins and endovascular treatment of peripheral arterial disease. As an interventional radiologist he is specialized in endovascular image guided procedures both in the venous and arterial systems using ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance. Dr. Kundu utilizes a unique micropuncture technique to perform endovenous laser ablation for the treatment of venous insufficiency and has had a 99% technical success rate to date. Dr. Kundu has been sanctioned by the College of Physicians and Surgeons to perform Endovenous Laser Ablation for the treatment of varicose veins.

Dr. Kundu is currently Medical Director of The Vein Institute of Toronto and Scarborough Vascular Ultrasound. He is also active staff at the Scarborough Hospital General Campus, where he specializes in performing imaged guided endovascular procedures using computed tomography, x-ray and ultrasound guidance. He has helped create: A uterine artery embolization program for the treatment of uterine fibroids; Carotid artery stenting program for the treatment of cerebrovascular disease; and abdominal aortic endograft program for the treatment of aortic anuerysms. Dr. Kundu is actively involved in research in the areas of treatment of venous insufficiency for varicose veins, hemodialysis intervention, vascular ultrasound and peripheral arterial disease.
